Stephen Willis

Welcome!

Hello! My name is Stephen.

I have graduated in Fine Art having studied at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. Anglesey is where I have lived and work for most of my life. The wild landscapes of North Wales gives a lot of my inspiration. Catalunya is another place I am taken by. For this reason, and the love of the people who live there, I am currently learning Spanish and Catalan. Recently I have been exploring fantasy art. As a result of being introduced to Dungeons and Dragons, I am enjoying discovering how to create or alter artwork digitally. It is been an opportunity to develop my skills with drawing figures; helping me to further diverse my skills.

After graduating, I began studying plumbing. I like to explore various methods of creating and expression. As such, I took part in a community silk painting art project. The final outcome of the project was the creation of an art installation in the Library of Wales in Aberystwyth, on the theme of local identity.  I found the medium different from other two-dimensional mediums and the behaviour of the paint was chaotically exciting. Painting minatures has been a recent challenge I have under took.

My work can be found for sale on my Etsy shop, Anglesey Good Gifts (a non-profit crafts centre) and other outlets in North Wales.
